Leather Dry Cleaning
How can I know for sure what it will cost to have my garment cleaned?
We have provided detailed pricing on the order form.  For things not covered by the order form or for those things that require a quote, please call customer service at 313-864-2111.  Also, remember that part of our processing procedure will be to send an email confirming receipt of your package and verifying the pricing.

I want to talk to someone before any work is done on my coat.  Will you do that?
We will be happy to contact you before doing any work on your garment.  Just make a request in the “Special Instructions” portion of the order form.  Make sure you leave a phone number where you can be reached.

I left my jacket in the basement and it has mildew.  Will it come out?
We are very successful in removing mildew stains that have not permanently damaged the skins.  Odor associated with mildew is treated in our ozone booth before cleaning.  Sometimes, however, a faint mildew odor may remain.

How long does it take to clean my jacket?
Please allow 7 business days after we receive your shipment or after approval for processing.  We will send an email confirming receipt of your package and giving an estimated return ship date.

I got caught in the rain with my suede jacket and now it has water marks.  Will that come out?
Yes.  The standard cleaning process will remove the water spots.

Will the color be the same after cleaning?
Our color technician has over 30 years of experience in matching colors.  While cleaning can sometimes alter the color slightly, we make every effort to restore the garment to it original color.

The black has worn off my leather jacket.  Can you fix that?
Restoring lost color on smooth leathers is part of our normal cleaning and finishing process.  All worn areas will be redyed.

My pastel colored suede has discolored in certain areas.  Why does that happen and can you fix it?
Pastels are very prone to oxidation which is caused by age and exposure to UV light.  We add a translucent dye to an oil spray which helps mask color loss and provide a more uniform appearance.  Significant oxidation cannot be eliminated.  Consider redying the garment black or brown with immersion dye.  Click here for some pictures in our Testimonials & Pictures page. 


Repairs & Alterations
My zipper separates when I zip it up.  Do I need a new pull or a new zipper?
If there are no missing or damaged parts on the zipper, often a new pull will solve the problem.  If you request a new pull and require a new zipper instead, we will advise you on the confirmation email we send when we receive your shipment.  You can then decide whether you want the repair done.

Can you put a new zipper in my purse?
Each purse is different.  Just indicate on the order form that you want a new zipper and we will advise you on the confirmation email whether that can be done.

Will it take longer to get repairs done with the cleaning?
Minor repairs such as buttons, snaps and tears can be done within the normal cleaning time.  Major repairs such as new linings, new components and zippers may take an additional week.

When you fix a tear in leather, will it be invisible?
Tears are repaired by placing a piece of leather on the underside of the skin and pulling the torn edges back together using a special leather adhesive.  On painted leathers, the surface is sprayed to mask the repair.  The appearance of the repair will depend on the size and location of the tear and the skin type.  However, it will not be invisible.  For large tears, we can completely replace the panel of leather.  This repair is by quote only and depends on the size of the panel and the location.


Feather Pillows
My feather pillow is getting flat.  How do I know how much additional feathers to order?
A standard feather pillow has about 3 pounds of feathers.  Our feathers are sold in ¼ lb bags; often 1-2 bags are all that is needed to restore loft.  Remember to specify feathers or down when requesting new feathers to be added.


Furniture
The finish on the seats of my leather sofa has worn off.  Can you fix that?
The finish can be restored.  The easiest way for us to advise you on your options is for you to email a picture to us.

I don't have a digital camera to email a picture of my furniture.  Will you come out for an inspection?
Yes, we can come out for an inspection.  There is a charge for this service; however, if the work it done at that time, it will be waived.


Ordering & Shipping
Can I send my coat through the post office?
We recommend shipping your package through UPS or Federal Express so that it can be properly tracked and delivered.  Packages sent via the post office cannot be delivered directly to our production facility and must be picked up at the post office.

Will my coat be wrinkled from shipping?
We carefully package garments to avoid wrinkles.  Hang your garment after it is received to relax any minor packaging marks.

What if I’m unhappy after I get my coat back?
Our goal is customer satisfaction.  We will work with you to address any concerns you have. Just give us a call!  Should you have to return the garment, we will send you a free return shipping label.

You sound like you’re an expert with leather, but I’m afraid to do business online.  Can you recommend a local dry cleaner?
Ram provides wholesale cleaning to hundreds of dry cleaners in the Southeast Michigan.  We will be happy to recommend one of our customers if you would prefer to drop your garment off at a dry cleaner.  We pick up and deliver weekly to local cleaners.
