While all leather will lose color over time, pastels are particularly prone to oxidation. Caused by exposure to UV light, oxidation causes pigments to fade or change color. With finished leathers, colors can easily be restored. With suede, we add a translucent dye to an oil spray which helps mask color loss and provide a more uniform appearance. For suede garments with severe oxidation, consider extending the life of your garment by making it black with our immersion dyeing process.
